What To Expect

Emotions 101

Following an opening comprised of prayer and meditation and explanation of the 5 Step Process, Part One will give you foundational clarity on the scope of emotions that may get buried under the more dominant emotions so you understand what is really at play in your life.  You will learn about the cycle of cause and effect/Trigger-Cue Response that lead to behaviors that stem from thoughts and beliefs in our minds.  We will use various tools for this part of the process.

The Big Dig

This part will be quiet, sacred, contemplative time where you will be guided through a series of questions to help you bring to the surface the most prominent thoughts, beliefs, influences and emotions that have disrupted your inner peace, robbed your joy or caused you unnecessary grief and pain.  Please allow yourself to be fully present and avoid any interruptions during this part.

The Letting Go

In this part we will incorporate a therapeutic art project and spend time processing the results of the previous exercise in a meditative setting with instrumental music.  You will be given the option to also ceremoniously burn your past into ashes, representing a cleansing and a reboot, in keeping with the Scripture promise that our mourning will be replaced by a crown of beauty and joy.

Claiming the Crown

In this last part of the workshop you will be guided through a checklist of visioning questions to help you invite new thoughts, habits, and aspirations into your life to feel a renewed sense of hope that PEACE and JOY no longer need to elude you, that dark feelings such as anger, sadness, hurt, guilt and shame no longer need to haunt you.  You will also be resourced with other tools and support to continue your freedom journey and keep you in check as well as nurture more self-compassion and acceptance.

Do I need to do anything to prepare?

Even though you will be navigating each recording at your own pace, it is a wise idea to come rested and fed beforehand as you will be in a meditative and contemplative state for much of this workshop.  To get the most from it you will want to give it your undivided focus and attention.  In advance you can begin to journal the most dominant negative thoughts and emotions that are currently present in your life. Emotions are a tender part of our being and healing is a sacred act.  Let those around you know you need privacy and uninterrupted space for the duration of this workshop.  You deserve this time for yourself! You may want a box of tissues and something to drink at the ready. 

Is this the same as therapy?

This is not a therapy session and Jen Silbert is a certified life coach, not a board certified therapist.  This an educational  working session where you will learn how to recognize and identify myriad complex emotions, how the brain processes thoughts that form your beliefs that lead to negative emotions, and how to confront your emotions to process and heal them.  You will be guided through the healing processes to continue the work once you have completed the workshop. 

Is this a religious event?

The inspiration for this workshop came from God's promises to the people of Israel in Isaiah 61:3 that they would not suffer and mourn in vain, that he heard their cries and promised to replace their ashes of mourning with a crown of beauty and heal their spirit of despair.  In addition to the healing modalities you will learn of in this workshop, you will be given Scripture verses as references to take into your life to continue your healing.  Although Jen accepts the Lord as her Savior and God as the creator of our universe, this is not a church or religious service but rather sacred space for the spiritual woman who understands there is a power greater than herself available for deep soul-led healing.  That said, there will be references  to Scripture as well as Jen's healing testimonials at opportune times during the workshop. 

Will I feel healing during the workshop?

Depending on your circumstances, you may feel a releasing of emotions as you work through the steps in the workshop.  The awareness alone may bring feelings to the surface as you understand exactly what you are feeling and validate those feelings that need to be honored rather than suppressed.  If you at any time find these feelings too much to handle, you may choose to pause and return later or watch the recording.   You are being equipped to continue this process on your own as emotional healing is not a one-time, but rather a lifetime process.
